Criminalising the Palestinian Flag

On October 10th, Home Secretary Suella Braverman issued a letter to the police, urging them to remain vigilant regarding the ongoing violence in Palestine. In the letter, she referenced symbols associated with terrorism, such as the Palestinian flag, and words that could potentially incite violence such as the famous rhyme “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free”. This letter was prompted by recent events in Palestine, specifically the October 7th incidents where resistance fighters launched rockets at the Zionist entity, causing significant damage. Subsequently, there have been reports of individuals feeling offended by the presence of the Palestinian flag, equating it with terrorism.

Instances like this often result in fear-mongering and subsequent legislative measures in British politics. This letter to the police exemplifies the trend of controlling ideas. It wouldn’t be unforeseen if the term “Palestine” were eventually prohibited, like previous attempts to outlaw words like “Jihad,” “Shariah,” and “Khilafah.”

In light of the current situation and the letter addressed to the police, it is crucial to reflect on some fundamental facts. It is important to acknowledge that the consequences of a colonial legacy have come home to haunt the colonisers. When individuals are given a strong sense of identity, they are more inclined to fight for what they believe in. The concept of dividing and ruling through nation-states has transformed into unite and conquer for Muslims.

The waving of a flag becomes secondary to the deeply rooted sentiments Muslims have towards their land, the love of this land has nothing to do with Sykes picot or the Balfour declaration, these plans are of the past as far as the Muslims are concerned. This land is a land of the Prophets for the entire Muslims of the globe. Given this fact, Muslims’ feelings against the Zionist Entity are far more powerful than a mere piece of cloth. It is time for Britain to reclaim the symbol of Syke Picot, it would be a pleasure for the Muslims to hand back this nationalistic flag and adopt the banner of one ummah, the nationalistic flag is the very symbol that brought Muslims to this troubled state. Britain’s divide-and-rule policy is failing miserably, as Muslim unity goes beyond borders, flags, and cultural differences.

During the late 18th century, under the rule of King George III, there was a notable inclination to suppress dissent and uphold royal authority. This led to the enactment of the Treasonable Practices and Seditious Meetings Acts, targeting political radicals and aiming to curb the spread of revolutionary ideas, particularly during the French Revolution. Regrettably, these stringent measures proved ineffective in subduing political dissent or preventing the dissemination of radical ideologies. On the contrary, they exacerbated grievances and bolstered the determination of those advocating for political reform. It appears that Britain is trapped in a cycle of repeat and recycle. When a state relies solely on legislation to shape the thoughts and beliefs of its citizens, it indicates a lack of confidence in its own values and principles. Authentic engagement and debate should be the pillars of successful governance, rather than resorting to punitive measures to control people’s thoughts.

Regarding the issue of armed resistance in Palestine, the Muslims will always show commitment to continue the struggle until either external military intervention takes place to liberate the revered land or until the last Muslim on earth fights for its freedom. This statement underscores the deep-rooted passion and determination among Muslims who hold the land of the prophets dear to them.

Both Britain and its illegitimate child the Zionist entity have failed in convincing the global community of their innocence and genuine concern for the well-being of humanity. The efforts to defend and promote the actions of the Zionist entity have failed in gaining support, as many political analysts, celebrities, and ordinary individuals have expressed a clear understanding of the extent of the suffering endured by the people of Palestine. The ongoing conflict and reported human rights violations have contributed to a growing perception of a genocidal situation.

Muslim communities in Britain are calling for an open and honest discussion about the legitimacy of the Zionist state. They are seeking a platform for this debate that is free from any form of bias or propaganda, even if it means holding mainstream media institutions accountable for biased or prejudiced reporting. This demand aims to foster transparency and objectivity in the discourse surrounding the Zionist entity.

The Muslim community in Britain has faced challenges with legislation that may contradict her beliefs, values, and way of life. However, Muslims have shown resilience in standing up against any attempts of bribery or coercion. This steadfastness indicates that previous policies aimed at integrating Muslims into mainstream society have not been successful. Muslims refuse to be intimidated by the introduction of new laws or fear-inducing tactics. Our commitment to Iman is strong, we are unwilling to compromise our principles. The attachment to the land of the prophets holds a special place in our hearts, prioritizing it above all else.
